US rocker Pete Wentz admits his band Fall Out Boy need to rediscover their creativity before they can regroup.
The punk pop group have been on an indefinite hiatus since last month, with Wentz blaming burn-out.
'We lived and ate and slept and breathed Fall Out Boy for seven years,' Wentz told AAP in Sydney on Monday.

While some teens and tweens want to be grown-ups, some wish grown-ups would stop trying to be teens and tweens. It's for this latter group that Activision Blizzard is presenting "Band Hero," a "Guitar Hero"-style music game made for people too young to drink but too old to drink juice boxes.
While "Band" looks and plays just like "Guitar Hero"—and even uses the same guitar-, drum-, and mic-shaped controllers—where it goes young is in its setlist, which includes tunes by All-American Rejects (“Dirty Little Secret”), Taylor Swift (“Love Story”) and Fall Out Boy, whose song “Sugar, We're Going Down” is available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2 and Wii versions, and “Thnks Fr Th Mmrs” is playable on the DS version.
We spoke to Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz—who's also co-starring in the TV commercial with Swift, Weezer's Rivers Cuomo, and Blink-182's Travis Barker—about the game, the commercial and his Tom Cruise impression.
"Band Hero" is a music game aimed at a teen and tween audience. But given that rock bands don't usually want to appeal to teenagers and, uh, tweenagers, why did you decide to let them include two of your songs in the game?
Well, to be honest with you, our demographic probably goes from 13 to 24, so teenagers are a large part of our demographic. But one of the things that's coolest about it, for me, is that one day my kid will be able to play my songs in the game. It's weird, but as I became a dad, I found myself wanting to do things like this.
Who decided which of your songs would appear in the games?
They came to us and requested those songs, and we then decided whether to do it or not.

NEW YORK, Nov. 9, 2009- Fall Out Boy vocalist Patrick Stump writes most of the music for his platinum-plus Chicago rock band, but he's also a closet R&B/soul fan who has produced tracks for fellow Windy City rapper Lupe Fiasco, and is a longtime fan of Daryl Hall's music, which makes him the perfect guest for the 25th and latest installment of Live From Daryl's House, available starting Nov. 15 at www.lfdh.com.
"As a musician, I can't fathom a show more fun to play than Live From Daryl's House," says Stump about his experience playing with Daryl and his band, including T-Bone Wolk, on the web series.
"Patrick Stump is one soulful vocalist," says Daryl admiringly. "I was really impressed with his grasp of R&B and it turned out we shared a love for a great deal of the same music."
As a producer, Stump has worked with such bands as Gym Class Heroes, whose vocalist Travis McCoy is also an unabashed Daryl Hall fan and a participant in a previous Live From Daryl's House. Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman calls him "a musical genius, a mad scientist," while noted producer/performer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds says, "Patrick is one of the hottest dudes I've seen in a long time… He's got a great voice and a tremendous amount of talent." Fall Out Boy's fifth album, Folie a Deux, was released last December, producing the hit singles, "I Don't Care" and "America's Suitehearts."
Stump puts that great voice straight to work, joining Daryl in a seven-song set highlighted by singles "Out of Touch" and "Guessing Games," the latter from the H2O album. Among the Fall Out Boy songs Daryl and Patrick perform are versions of "I Don't Care," "What a Catch, Donny" and "Sugar, We're Goin Down" along with a cover of Jimmy Ruffin's soul classic, "What Becomes of the Broken-Hearted."
Past episodes of Live from Daryl's House have featured a mix of well-known performers like Smokey Robinson, The Doors' Robby Krieger and Ray Manzarek, Nick Lowe, K.T. Tunstall, Todd Rundgren, Gym Class Heroes' Travis McCoy, Finger Eleven's James Black and Rick Jackett and the Bacon Brothers, along with newcomers such as Philly soul singer Mutlu, Canadian techno-rockers Chromeo, MySpace pop-rock phenom Eric Hutchinson, Cash Money rocker Kevin Rudolf, Wind-up Records' Chicago rockers Company of Thieves, Bay Area singer/songwriter Matt Nathanson, Charlottesville, Va's rising Parachute, Chicago rock band Plain White T's and highly touted tunesmith Diane Birch.
Live from Daryl's House started with Daryl's "light-bulb moment" idea of "playing music with my friends and putting it up on the Internet," and the show has subsequently been praised by such varied media outlets as Rolling Stone, Spin, Daily Variety, CNN, BBC, Yahoo and the influential Lefsetz Letter.

Currently Stump is in the studio beginning work on several musical projects including a new album for California MC Murs, new music with Las Vegas band the Cab, and a solo recording with legendary producer Peter Asher for an upcoming compilation album.
Thank you,
Originally scheduled for April 7, the first single off the set titled "Prom Queen," produced by Infamous and Andrew "Drew" Correa, reached no. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. Second single "Hot Revolver" debuted at No. 33 on the same tally.
In addition to Infamous and Correa, producers Cool and Dre and Develop also have tracks on "Rebirth," while Fall Out Boy is featured. The latter comes after their first collaboration on Fall Out Boy's 2008 release, "Folie à Deux." Lenny Kravitz, Travis Barker and Young Money/Cash Money artist Drake also appear on the set.
Although the album is mostly rock inspired, with Lil Wayne playing guitar on most of the tracks, the leaked song, "Fix My Hat," produced by Drew Money, is one of the few rap tracks that made it onto the "Rebirth" set.

My head's fine.
Party was good.
Went and saw Brendan up at the Apple Store in Deer Park. Didn't realize it was so close to Schaumburg.
The dogs are being noisy.
I'm being a dick by making everything one line.
More later.
"Patrick Stump performed a solo set mostly of covers with an as-of-yet unnamed backing band as his old high school, Glenbrook South in his hometown of Glenview Illinios. The performance was for local charity donating canned foods to needy families.

HELL YES!

So, today was my 30th birthday. And it’s made me think about how much I’ve changed over the past 10 years. Don’t get me wrong - it’s not much change. I mean, I got 3 video games for my birthday this year. That’s probably more than I got when I was 14.
But I have changed. I’ve taken on more adult jobs and more adult responsibilites. So has everyone else in my group of friends/demographic/etc. And truth is - it isn’t as much fun.
And then this morning, I woke to pretty awesome news. Pete Wentz, one of my best friends/boss/guy who owns this clothing line, gave me a birthday shout out while he was judging the TV show “Australian Idol.” Like it meant something to anyone besides him. Cause he wanted to do it and he thought I’d crack a smile. And I did. But it got me thinking. And the pople who are reading this are most likely not 30. But you will be one day, so keep this in mind.
How is Pete Wentz having the most fun at 30? Major television show where he can shout out a best friend’s birthday? Yeah, he’ll do it. Make a bet with a friend that might, and did, involve getting a horrible tattoo of their face on his body? Sure, sounds entertaining. Drink pee on stage in a twisted game of Russian Roulette? Listen, I’m not validating it, but that did happen.
After my 30th birthday, I’m looking up to Pete in a different way now. Not just cause the dude has more arms than Vishnu in one million cookie jars. Not just because of how much he loves his son and family. Not just because he’s living out his dream. Because while he’s doing all that - he’s having fun.
So, I ask, how is the busiest person we all know…with adult ass jobs and responsibilities, how is this person having the most fun?
I don’t think the dude is ever going to change. And that’s why I’m looking up to him today. Thank you for the shout out and thank you for bringing me along for the fun.
Oh, yeah, also, we’re bringing back the Marauder. Told you, never changing.
